“It just really gives people the chance to level up, if you will, and be part of society and grow their own personal wealth,” Jackie Mayo says of the power of housing. She’s the President and CEO of HomeSource east tennessee.
In the 13 counties across Eastern Tennessee that HomeSource serves, more people have moved to the region, causing home prices to increase and making it harder for people earning modest incomes to stay and compete.
That’s where HomeSource comes in. It’s working to create more sustainable housing by developing new apartments and single-family homes, providing affordable rentals to seniors and families, preventing foreclosures through counseling and making it easier for people to become homeowners.
